Arthur, Ames, Nelson, Peterson and Myers make it to victory lane as Miller Central Speedway opens 2025 campaign

MILLER, SD (May 3) - Grady Myers, Jayme Peterson, Trevor Nelson, Dale Ames, and Dustin Arthur were among the winners to usher in Miller Central Speedway’s opener with big victories, as the track opened Saturday for the 2025 season.

Grady Myers topped a strong field of WISSOTA Street Stocks Saturday. He started from the pole and led all but the first lap to take the win. In the official run down following the tech shed, 12th-starter Maria Broksieck was credited with second, Jodie Michaelsohn was third, Jayden Michaelsohn was fourth and Matt Goth completed the top five.

Jayme Peterson was strong in his drive from the pole to victory lane in the WISSOTA Midwest Mods. He picked up the win ahead of second-row starter Matt Heinzerling, Todd Stark, Nick Perry and Lane Johnson in the top five.

Trevor Nelson won his second race of the weekend in the WISSOTA Super Stocks. He was scored the leader with a few laps in the books, and his advantage was more than 4.7 seconds at the stripe. He was followed to the checkered flag by Brad Kopecky, Kenneth Clements, Derek Zastrow and Wyatt Schweigert in the top five.

In the WISSOTA Modifieds Dale Ames scored his first win of the season, taking the lead around the halfway point of the race and driving on toward victory. Garrett Gross, Adam Brotherton, Lane Johnson and Chris Moore were top-five finishers.

In the WISSOTA Late Models, Arthur was the early leader and set pace out front. He drove to the eventual victory with a 1.7 or so lead on former WISSOTA National Champion Chad Becker, in second. Mike Stearns motored through the field and improved seven positions to third, while Trevor Anderson was fourth. Jayson Good rounded out the top five.

In the track’s Pure Stock class, Mike Hammill was victorious over the short field.
