Rice Lake Speedway’s $1200 to win Springtime Mod special coming this weekend

By Ed Reichert

RICE LAKE, WI - Henry Repeating Arms, “Made In America Or Not Made At All,” has been named the title sponsor once again for the second annual Springtime Modified Spectacular, to be held this Saturday, May 9 at Rice Lake Speedway.

This WISSOTA-sanctioned event will provide one of the first higher paying special events for the Modifieds during the 2026 racing season.

The Modifieds will be racing for $1,200 to win the main event and the race will pay $100 just to start. And as a bonus benefit, there will be no entry fees or draw fees and the pit admission price remains the weekly price of $30.

Henry will provide a very special trophy to the winner of the feature in the form of a custom engraved and specialized serial No. 1 of one rifle.

Blake Adams was the winner of the inaugural event in 2025 and is also undefeated at the track so far this year, having won both feature races contested so far in 2026. A field of perhaps 25 to 30 Modified drivers is expected with many of the area’s top drivers planning to be in attendance.

As a bonus to the racing fans, not only will they get to see the Modified drivers racing, but the other four classes—the Super Stocks, Midwest Modifieds, Street Stocks and Pure Stocks—will participate in a full program of heats and feature races, thus making for an impressive night of racing.

To top things off, regular admission prices will be in effect on Saturday, even though it is a special event.

Pit gates will open at 3 p.m. on Saturday, with the spectator gates opening one hour later. The drivers’ meeting and hot laps are slated for 5:30 p.m. with racing at 6 p.m.

Rice Lake Speedway is located one mile north of Rice Lake Wisconsin midway between state highway 48 and Barron County Highway SS. The race day phone number is 715-236-2002 and for the latest information on the speedway, follow the website at www.ricelakespeedway.net.
