Fiesta City feature winners are Gilbertson, Sabraski, Flaten, Dykhoff & VanDerostyne as the newest season begins

MONTEVIDEO, MN (May 1) - A total of 89 cars were in the pits for the 2026 season opener at Fiesta City Speedway Friday night, May 1.

WISSOTA Dirt Track Series winners included Shane Sabraski, Ryan Flaten, Kyle Dykhoff, Adam VanDerostyne, and Matt Gilbertson.

In the WISSOTA Midwest Mods, Ryan Flaten led from green to checkered to net his first win of the year. He was followed to the checkered flag by Memphis Klassen, Darren Engesser, Jason Vejtruba and Justin Bjorklund in the top five.

Travis Scott took the lead to start the WISSOTA Super Stock feature, with Shane Sabraski getting by the No. 71 with five laps in the books. Sabraski led the rest of the way to garner the victory, ahead of Scott, Dylan Nelson, Jason Hobbs, and Colsten Schultz in the top five.

Justin Vogel was the early leader in the WISSOTA Street Stock feature. Kyle Dykhoff took the lead from Vogel on lap three, and he drove on to get the feature win. Tenth-starter Tommy Pogones charged his way through the field into second, seventh-starter Eric Riley improved four spots to third, Alex Grinager was fourth and Cody Hatch rounded out the top five.

In the WISSOTA Late Model feature, Jack Koranda was the leader early on. Four laps into the race Matt Gilbertson drove his No. 23 past Koranda into the top spot and went on to get the feature win. Koranda, Devin Fouquette, Dexton Koch and Cade Nelson completed the top five.

Adam VanDerostyne was the early leader in the WISSOTA Hornet feature. On lap nine, William Lange drove by into the top spot. VanDerostyne took the lead back four laps later and led the rest of the way for the feature win. Bradley Rossow, Brady Fosso, Jerik Stabler and Zander Zuehlsdorff were top-five finishers.

Jason Best took the lead to start the Pure Stock feature. With two laps to go, Carter Rice challenged for the lead with two laps to go, but Best held on to get the feature win. Mason Fester, Justin Erp and Brady Hagen completed the top five.
