Edginton, Veert and Greseth grab the checkered flags Friday at River Cities Speedway

GRAND FORKS, ND (May 15) - Cole Greseth continued his domination of western WISSOTA Street Stock action Friday night at River Cities Speedway, as the Grand Forks, ND race track hosted its first race of the 2026 season Friday night, May 15.

In other WISSOTA-sanctioned action, Shane Edginton picked up the win in the Late Models, while Frank Veert was victorious in the Midwest Mods.

Greseth, who has had an incredible start to the 2026 racing season, took the early lead in the WISSOTA Street Stocks before a caution for Bryce Reimer regrouped the field.

Greseth continued to lead back under green, as Greg Jose displaced Scotty Messner for second with five laps complete.

As the laps continued to click off Greseth grew his advantage over the field, even as he worked his way through lapped traffic. Greseth was unstoppable once again, as he drove off to the victory ahead of seventh-starter Jose in second. Messner, John Halvorson and Deryk Weleski completed the top five.

In the WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds, Veert was the early leader just ahead of Brenden Luschinski before a caution for a spun racer regrouped the field.

Back under green, Veert escaped into the lead once again, followed by Luschinski, Cylen Vargason, Ryan Schow and Jory Berg in the early top five.

With four laps complete Veert was under heavy pressure from Luschinski for the lead, as Veert lost the handle a bit coming out of turn four. They were side by side into turn one, but Veert was able to pull away again down the backstretch. Behind them it was a great battle among Vargason, Berg, and Schow for top-five spots, which ended with Schow going up and over the race track in turn one.

Veert took back off under green, ahead of Luschinski, Vargason, Brennan Schmidt and Berg in the top five. Austin Hunter was just behind in sixth with six laps to go before contact between Schmidt and Vargason ended with a Vargason spin; Schmidt went to the back of the pack.

Back under green Veert continued to hold down the top spot, with Luschinski steady in second and Hunter and Vargason fighting for third just ahead of Berg. Hunter took the spot shortly after.

Veert hung on for the victory in the remaining laps, followed by Luschinski, Hunter, Berg and Vargason in the top five.

Father-daughter duo Kelsi Pederson and Joey Pederson led the field of WISSOTA Late Models to the green for their first race of the year. Kelsi was the early leader, ahead of John Seng, Joey in third, and Brody Troftgruben and Shane Edginton on his bumper in a fight for top-five spots. Edginton displaced Troftgruben for fourth, while out front Kelsi and Seng battled for the lead. One lap later Edginton continued his charge to the front, taking third from Joey, while Dustin Strand cracked the top five.

With 11 laps to go, Kelsi continued to lead, as Edginton got by Seng after contact was made, with Pederson and Strand side by side for fourth.

Edginton used an inside pass in turn four with seven to go to take the lead, as farther back Strand and Joey remained glued to one another for fourth. Three laps later Strand drove by Joey into fourth, and took third one lap later.

Out front, Edginton drove to a 3-second advantage, while Strand slipped by Kelsi in the final turn for second. Seng and Joey completed the top five.

Gage Pulkrabek took the win in the 410 Sprints, while Eric Guyot was the victor in the Western Renegade Wingless Sprints class.
