Johnson, Kopecky, Peterson and Broksieck score feature wins on opening day of a dirt track doubleheader
MILLER, SD (May 9) - Miller Central Speedway hosted the first night of a two-day special on Friday, May 9.
When final checkered flag fell over the South Dakota speedway, WISSOTA Dirt Track Series winners included Lane Johnson, Brad Kopecky, Jayme Peterson, and Maria Broksieck.
Johnson started from the front row in the WISSOTA Modifieds, gaining the advantage about lap five and holding on to take home his first victory of the 2025 season. Polesitter Andy Brooker had to settle for second, Dave Brooker was third, and James Hanley completed the field in fourth.
In the WISSOTA Super Stocks, Kopecky started in the second row and took the lead with about three laps to go. He was followed to the checkered flag by Wyatt Schweigert, Damon Hoftiezer, and Kenneth Clements in the finishing field.

Peterson scored his second victory of the young season at Miller, starting from the pole and leading every lap en route to the win. Lane Johnson, Luke Johnson, and Jeff Metzinger were the top four finishers.
Coming off a stellar 2024 campaign, Maria Broksieck was back in victory lane, as she grabbed the WISSOTA Street Stock win Friday. She moved to the lead on lap two and never looked back, driving home for the win. She was chased to the checkered flag by Broc Stout, Grady Myers, Travis Oxandaburu, and Wyatt Booker in the top five.

In the track’s Pure Stock class, Cody Songer scored the win.
